Rongai Route
Rongai Route - Climb Mount Kilimanjaro
The Rongai Route is one of the lesser-traveled yet equally impressive routes for climbing Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. This route starts on the northern side of the mountain, near the border with Kenya. Unlike other routes, Rongai offers a gradual ascent and panoramic views of the Amboseli plains to the north.
The Rongai Route typically takes 6-7 days to complete, allowing for better acclimatization to the altitude. Campsites along the route are often quieter and less crowded compared to more popular routes like Marangu or Machame.
This route provides a unique experience for climbers who prefer a more remote and less commercial perspective of Kilimanjaro, enjoying diverse landscapes ranging from lush rainforests to high-altitude alpine terrain.
