DAY 1: Arusha to Tarangire National Park
Embark from Arusha on a scenic 2-hour drive covering 120 kilometers to Tarangire National Park. Spanning 2,600 square kilometers, the park is famed for its large elephant herds, iconic baobab trees, Tarangire River, swamps, and diverse bird species.
Encounter a variety of wildlife including zebras, wildebeests, gazelles, impalas, buffaloes, baboons, giraffes, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, elephants, and warthogs amidst Tarangire’s picturesque landscapes.
DAY 2: Karatu to Serengeti National Park
Embark from Karatu on an exciting journey to Serengeti National Park, sprawling across 5,700 square miles (14,763 km²). This iconic park ranges from 920m to 1,850m in elevation, offering breathtaking landscapes and unparalleled wildlife experiences.
Serengeti’s main draws include the annual wildebeest migration, vast grassland savannahs, rugged wilderness, and distinctive kopjes. Encounter a rich array of wildlife, including wildebeests, zebras, buffaloes, baboons, giraffes, lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, elephants, hippos, jackals, elands, dik-diks, gazelles, impalas, hartebeests, servals, and mongooses. Notably, witness the awe-inspiring crossings of the Grumeti River and Mara River during the migration season.
DAY 3-4: Full Day Game Drive in Serengeti
Enjoy a full day of exhilarating game drives within Serengeti National Park. Immerse yourself in the diverse landscapes and abundant wildlife that make this park legendary.
Explore the expansive grasslands, iconic kopjes, and witness the thrilling predator-prey interactions that define Serengeti’s ecosystem. Spot a variety of wildlife including lions, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, elephants, giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, and countless other species in their natural habitat.
DAY 5: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater
Set off early from Serengeti for a scenic drive to Ngorongoro Crater. This geological marvel was formed approximately 2.5 million years ago from a collapsed volcano cone, now recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1979.
Ngorongoro Crater Wildlife: Encounter a diverse array of wildlife within the crater, including zebras, buffaloes, baboons, warthogs, lions, wildebeests, gazelles, hyenas, elephants, hippos, jackals, and even black rhinos.
DAY 6: Karatu to Lake Manyara National Park
Travel from Karatu to Lake Manyara National Park, covering 330 square kilometers, with 220 square kilometers being the lake itself.
Major Attractions: Explore the park’s unique rift wall, famous for its tree-climbing lions, groundwater forest, picturesque lake, diverse birdlife, and rejuvenating hot water sulfur springs.
Common Animals: Encounter a variety of wildlife including baboons, giraffes, lions, blue monkeys, warthogs, leopards, buffaloes, wildebeests, zebras, impalas, and hippos, amidst Lake Manyara’s captivating landscapes.
